BY A THREAD

A neoclassical work created for Ballet Yuma (pre-professional company in Arizona) for their future repertoire/productions. The youthful voices of young artists encouraged this piece to take a lighter approach to understanding the strength of the rising generation. While difficulty and constant change has become a regular occurrence to youthful eyes, the responsibility of their future only becomes more relevant. “By a Thread” searches to give voice to the strength, joy and complex nature of community in a younger generation that is living in unseen circumstances. This three movement, neoclassical ballet juxtaposes a musical baroque score by Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Philipp Telemann in order to create counterpointal alignment and misalignment as an illusion to organized chaos.
