AGENCY IN NARRATIVE

This work was created at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance as a multi-choreographer collaboration with one composer, Bryan Kostors. Alessandro Michele’s quote fueled the work as a gateway to the inner workings of the mind. We felt a connection of thoughts as an infinite labyrinth and utilized Kostors’s unique electronic composition to develop cues that were given by both the dancer to the composer and the composer to the dancer. In this way, the music and movement were dependent on each other in live conversation during the performance.
